7" ePad Tablet*Android 2.1*WiFi*HDMI 1080P*Cam is a little slow in responding to the touch, buy my son is used to using a stylus with other devices so he always uses a stylus with it which helps with the lag time in recognizing the human touch. I have done some review on

and i find following differences :

Nikon P500 is better in : optical zoom, Max aperture, Sensor shift Image Stab.

Sony DSC-HX100V better in : MegPix, Optical Image Stab., FPS, Max & Min shutter speed, Max Resolution, Flash Range, Orientation Sensor (not interested in GPS builtin).

I am still confused which one is more powerful, also i would like to see which one is more reliable, durable, handy to use (do i need to consider brand also ?)

My main purpose behind buying camera is to family photography, album making and occasionally nature photography.

I also see one more camera (not sure about the features of it) – Sony Alpha NEX-3

can you please help me with this ?

A GPS would be ideal.
In theory i believe you can use the gps even outside earth, but can you?
I have my doubts about directional antennas and there might be some limitations in height and speed so it can not be used for ballistic missiles.
Also, is there any way to send data directly to a ground base or i have to retrieve the receiver?
I guess a barometer would do the trick but do you have anything to suggest?

It depends on the GPS receiver. They say on them how high they function to. The highest mountain is only 29k feet. You’ll need permits and all sorts of other things to launch a balloon which will get up to altitudes that planes fly at (20k-35k feet).

That said, the US restricts sale of GPS receivers which are "Designed for producing navigation results above 60,000 feet altitude and at 1,000 knots velocity or greater" They consider them military equipment. So if you get one that does, be sure it doesn’t leave the US or you could get charged with arms trafficking.

As to theory… the GPS satellite and nav work based on time differences from the various orbiting satellites. Most developers assume the satellites are all in the same direction(up) and save time and computational power by forcing them to only function on earth.

However, provided the satellite signals can be received, you could figure out where you are in proximity to the planet from the satellites and detailed knowledge of their trajectories around the planet.

You can wire your balloon up to transmit its data back. That is how some anti-theft devices in cars work(get GPS location and radio it to the police).

Again with the speed limitations and such you get into ITAR(see above). If the GPS is "Designed or modified for use with unmanned air vehicle systems capable of delivering at least a 500 kg payload to a range of at least 300 km. " Then its a military grade device.

Of course… due to less atmosphere… your helium balloon will cap out much lower than 28k feet.

so my plan would be to continue with weather balloon as some sort of carrier vehicle and then once at its pinacle, launch a guided rocket.
does anyone, however, know what kind of speed or thrust would be needed to do this? or is it simply a case of getting out of the atmosphere and then its in orbit? does the atmosphere have a kind of resistnce and without enough speed the rocket cant break free?

All you need is enough momentum to break free of earth’s gravitational pull, if it is only a small rocket than it shouldn’t need too much momentum to break free. But I do have to tell you that your plan is severely flawed, you would need extremely powerful and expensive antenna’s and transmitters to be able to transmit a live signal from space. Also, you can get in trouble with the FAA for endangering airspace.
