This database has an additional cost to keep it up to date (Tom Tom is £19.99 a year). NO sat nav. can 'detect' speed cameras as that requires a radar system which is illegal. If you don't need a Sat Nav device you can get a speed camera locator (same principle) e.g. 'RoadPilot MicroGo' The database on a sat nav usually only operates by the GPS location, so that a camera for the opposite carriageway or on a road over bridge will be detected.
