Speed camera Detectors – Hardwired??
April 3rd, 2010 | by admin |I was just wondering if anyone knows roughly how much it would cost to get a speed camera detecor hardwired to ‘52′ reg bmw compact? And if anyone knows of a good place to do it in the glasgow area?

Please only give serious answers to this question unlike the fa*ny below who clearly doesnt know how speed camera detectors work. Just for your info pal, it gives a warning as you approach before you go through it. Also, in anticipation of tree-hugging folks that think everyone should crawl along the motorway at 50mph, please dont answer coz i dont have time for your patronsing crap!

Provided you are thinking of the GPS system it should be possible to wire it up to the ignition controlled circuit quite cheaply. Remember it will need to be removed and connected to a PC for updates occasionally. If you are planning a hideaway radar detector, they’re illegal in most countries and can lead to a charge of interfering with the course of justice.
Special note: some countries eg switzerland are a bit funny about any sort of camera system, so a fixed unit could give problems. If you have a radar receiver in France it will be confiscated, if it is fixed the car will be taken!
