ABSTRACT
Advanced Scientific Concepts has developed a 3D camera unlike any other in existence. At video frame rates (30Hz) their solid-state flash LADAR system is able to simultaneously measure the distance to every point in the scene by recording the time-of-flight of a laser pulse. At full speed the camera collects 500,000 range points per second using a 1.57um eye-safe laser that has been successfully tested at distances greater than 5km.The entire system is the size of a shoebox and weighs only 12 pounds. It uses less than 60 watts of power and can be controlled from a laptop. Engineers from ASC will discuss…

Military …
Military applications have been the driving force behind US innovation since WWII. The US is the strong arm of rich men all over the planet, which is why those men fund trillions in US debt (i.e. buying stock in USA, inc — denominated in T-bills). The US military always has the best technology to ensure full spectrum dominance, enabling it to enforce the status quo of the global class hierarchy in which an elite of fewer than 1% own and control over 90% of the world’s resources and wealth.

did you read the disclaimer? Like so many other vids in the tech talks, it has nothing to do with Google itself. Google invites them to give a talk. That’s it.

as fascinating as it might be it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Is developing military applications part of the “google masterplan”?
