The Escort Passport 9500ix is an intelligent and effective radar detector. It detect all bands of speed enforcement radar (X, K, Ka, and Ku) from both front and rear, and its programmable GPS-enabled circuitry ensures you won’t be caught off-guard by hidden speed traps or pesky speed cameras. It even eliminates annoying false alarms. The Passport’s GPS system takes advantage of the same satellites used for GPS navigation to pinpoint your exact location and compares it to the detector’s on-board database of red light and speed camera locations. As you approach a potential threat, the detector provides an instant audible and visual alert. Distinct audible, visual, and voice alerts provide a separate warning for each band of radar, as well as laser, and traffic safety warnings. These are great …
These are great detectors but are not the best when it comes to 2 cameras located within 1 mile of each other. Its been proven here in Phx. but this is the only draw back to this series of detectors from escort. I use a V1 but escort is a great brand

only problem is it …
only problem is it has off-axis approach with redlight and speed cams. Its been proven. The IX as well as the CI and I models of this detector while it is very well at detecting it uses a radius approach to camera locations. So like here in phx you have a camera on the highway, and one on a surface street you get an over-lap effect to an off-axis camera alert. Cheetah has a linear approach which eliminates the off axis camera alerts.
