Fair enough, it …
Fair enough, it seems you are correct and HM Treasury takes all the profits while the SCPs take the flak.
While I can now take the SCPs declared aims more seriously it does look like these can still be considered (metal) cash cows for the Government, who seem to have no compulsion to spend the income on roads / safety.
I’d like to see that money funding more actual Police to detect the vast array of offences I see every journey: Mobile Phone use, centre lane blocking, Fog Light dazzlers etc.

@intruder313 …
@intruder313 Complete nonsense – councils don’t make a single penny from speed enforcement – it ALL goes to the government – Safety Camera Partnerships (of which councils are a small part) just get their running costs returned annually regardless of the number of detections. This all started in 2007 – google hypothecation / netting off.
This is why Swindon opted out – because they could no longer make money – there is no ‘revenue stream’, you are simply misinformed.

It goes to the …
It goes to the local councils which plant them and some have been “sold” on the idea of such cameras purely on the basis that they are a strong revenue stream.
Personally I never have and never will get caught as I simply don’t speed – but I still hate driving past rows and rows of cameras: they are as thick as lamp-posts in some towns!

GPS is only …
GPS is only accurate if the object being measured isn’t on any form of upward or downward gradient, so you can forget that. Not to mention the vast financial cost of setting up the infrastructure & admin of such a system.
GPS is therefore not a stable platform with which to measure speed.

How about measuring …
How about measuring speeds of cell phones, via GPS, or planting GPS tracking device on all cars.
It would also help collecting statistics of traffic flow.

Will you shut the up, they are hired to do this (their job). If you have a problem with it, contact your parliament.

Hi Wire; you seem …
Hi Wire; you seem ver misinformed about speed enforcement as less than 2% of all national speeding prosecutions are brought by ‘pigs’. The vast majority is detected by civilians. That said, neither the police or partnerships make any money, it all goes to central government & only running costs are returned, so I have no clue what the ‘theft’ aspect is about as warning signs are put out.
It is a job done by people who follow orders, it isn’t anything personal whoever does it.

mobile speed traps …
mobile speed traps are cunts.
I hope every copper who has anything to do with this money-making trap gets cancer in their pathetic scum brains.
fuck the pigs and their thieving bullshit.

that’s absoloutely …
that’s absoloutely stupid. Non-whites only make up about 9% of people.
a reduction of 9% of people from this country isn’t going to ‘halve’ our problems.
Besides, my biggest problem is the scum police who keep stealing money from people.

They would halve …
They would halve their problems if they just deported all Porkistani’s & dot-heads from The U.K.
The cameras are installed to collect the dollars to fund the welfare for them to get on their all fours & pray to Mecca 5 times a day. But, ofcourse Labour will blame that on the white man not wanting to hire someone who spends all day praying to a god that encourages enslavement of women & cutting the heads of people who are different from them.

I find it far more worrying to consider all the high-end speeders that have got off on a technicality.

It’s quite worrying …
It’s quite worrying thinking about how many people might have been wrongly accused, and accepted the 3 points and £60 simply because they fear the consequences if they were to contest the alleged offence. Just take into consideration how the LTI 20.20. works – common sense says it would be possible to get a false reading. Want more proof? You’re watching it now.

The chances are far …
The chances are far greater than you think. Especially when you take into account “user error.
Try it out for yourself… Point your digital camera at one spot on a moving vehicle, now see if you can keep it there, I doubt you will.
And that is part of the problem. With so many moving vehicles around the target vehicle, chances of reflection are increased enormously.
I hope this helped

i know.. you can …
i know.. you can tell he is pointing it right at the mirror which is angled out to perfectly hit that sign.. which is angled perfectly toward the side-view mirror. what are the chances of that happening in real life. specially if the car is going 70mph.
