Was this a speed camera I passed ?
February 23rd, 2010 | by admin |I was driving at about 42-43mph in a 40 zone and saw a cop in a bus stop, I slowed to 40mph about 100 yards away. He was holding a small box shape camera which he had very close to his eyes (NOT one of the laser handheld gun things). Was this a speed camera or a Tax Disc checker ? Also will I be receiving a speeding ticket ?
You will not get a ticket for doing 3 mph over. If your speedo said 43 then your actual speed could be up to 10% less than that anyway. No need to worry. You will not get a ticket – they would have stopped you there and then if they were going to do you.

What kind of budget are law enforcement working with when a Police Officer has to catch a bus to chase offenders. The object in question was in fact a Viewfinder – the Policeman was looking at stills from The Wind In The Willows!….

I am sure you have 10% tolerance so i am sure you will be ok,if you receive a summons don’t just accept it fight it on the issue of calibration.Ask to have the equipment used calibrated by an indepedant asseser.

Regardless of what the copper was holding, you slowed down to 40 mph 100 yards away, therefore any laser would not get a "lock". Dont worry, you’ll not be getting a ticket.
