Ok so this is what happened and i have a couple questions. i was REALLY late to practice this morning and I was speeding on the road my school is on (25mph school zone) and i totally forgot that there was a speed sign there.I went past it and said i was going like 41 and the leds started flashing white. Do these signs take your picture? or do they just record speed data for the police. there was no cop around the corner to give me a ticket. also after practice i stopped to look at the sign to see if there was a camera in it. There was this one spot that could be a camera, but then i thought that that could just be the radar detector thing.
First, do school zones count in the summer?
also if it was a camera and i do get a ticket, the ticket will not be a moving violation and i wont get points right? because they cant tell if it was me driving the car so how could they put points on my licence.
and lastly, if i do get a ticket how long before i can expect it to come in the mail?
No, they do not if there is no camera attached to it.
because they don’t use radar to catch you. a radar detector picks up the radar ‘noise’ and warns you of it, the traffic cams simply don’t use that.
I was driving earlier today out in long island, and decided to floor it out of a turn because the street looked empty. I then noticed to the right a pole with a speed detector and rated me at at 72mph and a posted limit of 20mph. Anyone know can happen? No cop saw me or anything, but are there camera’s on these radars, and will i be seeing a ticket in the mail?
I’ve gone speeding by these things numerous times. I’ve never recieved a ticket, nor has anybody I know. You should have nothing to worry about.
I want the best radar detector out there that can detect radar laser speed cameras everything. so far I’m looking at the Passport 9500ix, is that a good choice? if there are any other recomendations let me know please!!! any other infer would be greatly apprechiated.

I was going through San Jose at about 77/78 mph (12/13 over in that area) with my window down and saw a bright flash behind me accompanied by a subtle "click" noise as well. My first guess was that I just got hit by a speed camera. The only thing is that my radar detector didn’t go off around the camera nor did it go off when I was past the camera as many other cars following me were getting the same flash and click. The detector I have is a Beltronics Vector 955, which if you know detectors you know it is a great piece, and it can detect all types of X, K, Ka and Laser signals so I am totally oblivious to how the camera calculated my speed. The only other thing I can think would be using gates to measure my speed but that seems way to prone to error. Anyways, if anyone knows the way the cameras opperate, I am really curious. Thanks.

and i find following differences :
Nikon P500 is better in : optical zoom, Max aperture, Sensor shift Image Stab.
Sony DSC-HX100V better in : MegPix, Optical Image Stab., FPS, Max & Min shutter speed, Max Resolution, Flash Range, Orientation Sensor (not interested in GPS builtin).
I am still confused which one is more powerful, also i would like to see which one is more reliable, durable, handy to use (do i need to consider brand also ?)
My main purpose behind buying camera is to family photography, album making and occasionally nature photography.
I also see one more camera (not sure about the features of it) – Sony Alpha NEX-3

Mic test is hard to do for the higher speeds like 250 or 1/500 of a second.
I cant find the laser equipment to make my own.
I dont really trust the antique camera dealers here. They seem shady and not very honest, i will steal your camera dealers.
Most professional camera repair techs have a device on their bench that measures shutter speed. You cwn buy or build one. See links below for plans etc.
