Can a police speed camera detect multiple vehicles?
February 27th, 2010 | by admin |I was driving along the open road between 70 and 80 km/h (the limit is 100). There were 3 cars in a row and I was at the front. The car behind me passed me and around the corner a cop was waiting. He pulled the first 2 cars over (me and the car that passed me). According to him all 3 cars in the line were doing 116km/h and that I was lying about being passed.
Does anyone know how the police radar detection devices work and more specifically can they lock on to multiple vehicles and give different readings or did the cop just assume that all 3 cars were doing the same speed.
Any help or advice would be great
The he probably got an indicator from the radar and when he looked up he couldn’t tell that you were being passed. Since you were the front two cars he assumed you were the major violators.

he only gets one car at a time and he just assumed that all or you were going the same speed. he might have clocked you all separately also but i don’t think he would have time for all three cars
