Escort 9500 ix is rated as the best radar detector on the market today that combines superior detection on every radar and laser bands used in North America and combines GPS technology that makes this unit the first fully automatic detector. Not only will the 9500 ix sniff out and alert to manned speed traps but also the automated photo enforcement threats such as red light cameras and photo radar. Majority of the police now are using laser. It’s good that you invest in a radar but by the time the radar alerts you it is might be too late. If you’re a hardcore speeder, invest in a laser shifter also.

You’d think for a company that is so technologically advanced, they’d know how to focus a camera.

I have the original 9500, but it does not automatically lock out – I have to push the button. They want $129 each (I have two) to upgrade them to the auto version. That’s what you get for being an early adopter. Paid nearly $500ea when they first came out.

Voice prompts are exactly the same as belltronics. i think these may be built by the same vendor.

9500ix rocks!!!!! not to sure on lockout feature. on earlier 9500i models its been known to lock out an entire band of radar not just the location.

    Wrong the 9500ix …
Wrong the 9500ix has reported radar from over 9+ miles away and NO V1 has EVER came close to having that kind of range and I know what Iam talking about because I have been testing radar detectors myself for many years and have been testing the ix and the V1 as well as many others and with all the false alarms on the V1 is real hard to tell what is real radar and what is false radar but when the 9500ix sounds off you know its the real deal and not a stupid false alarm.

I have both V1 and 9500ix. Both great detectors, but each has its sort of niche. For around town driving 9500ix all the way. For Ripping down the interstate V1. If you could combine superior laser/radar power and arrows of the v1 and the gps of the 9500ix, you would have the perfect detector.

Escort still blows away the V1 and always has.

The ONLY thing the V1 is good for is false alarms.

Your WRONG the Escort still detects radar from further away Vs the false happy Valentine One.

9500ix owns everything. The V1 may barely edge out the 9500ix but hardly enough to mention. Very few false alarms too. This is one of the best RDs on the market right now and I guarantee you it is worth EVERY penny it costs ($499) I recommend will it over a V1 any day even though the v1 is a good radar detector.

Are you high, v1 is a joke with all the false alarms, Ive had the V1 and its the most annoying radar ever.

I just picked up the IX and this thing is incredible. Redlights, speed traps, all that is handy.

    The Valentine One …
The Valentine One still detects radar and lidar from further away than the Escort 9500ix and the V1 does it for $100 cheaper. How can Escort charge more for money for a product that doesn’t have a front and rear radar antenna and arrows to actually locate radar and lidar like the V1?
