January 31st, 2010 | by admin |

Running a Jato 3.3 with Garmin GPS strapped to the hood. Weight of Garmin probably slowed the truck down a bit but still impressive none the less.

My friend got a Jato, so we stole yer idea of using a Garmin Etrex GPS. Best we could get at 6500 ft ASL was 55.9 mph, which was still pretty sick. My Slayer did 46.4 mph. Both vehicles were stock.

The garmin doesent weigh that much. Besides it helped keep the front end down so it dosent wheelie out of control.

Thanks Bobo…. We think perhaps it went a little faster without the extra weight of the Garmin on it. That thing has a little weight to it. Plus where we mounted the Garmin it blocked the hole in the windshield and made the car run a little hottier than normal. The only reason we put it there was to keep the front wheels on the ground. In the future I would like to clock it using a real radar gun.
